SendGrid is a cloud-based email delivery and marketing platform that provides APIs and tools for high-volume email sending, deliverability, and analytics. Founded by Isaac Saldana, Jose Lopez, and Tim Jenkins, SendGrid enables businesses to send transactional and marketing emails at scale, handling email delivery, ISP monitoring, link tracking, and open rate reporting. The company went public on the NYSE in 2017 under ticker SEND and was acquired by Twilio in February 2019 for approximately $3 billion in an all-stock transaction. SendGrid now operates as a Twilio business unit, combining email capabilities with Twilio's voice, messaging, SMS, and video services to create an omnichannel communications platform. Together, Twilio and SendGrid serve over 140,000 active customer accounts and power more than 600 billion annualized interactions.
